For those of us that can't make it to the greatest race on earth, the Indy 500 - we head to Perris Auto Speedway for the Salute to Indy. A combo show of USAC 410's, Young Gun Sprints, Senior Sprints & Lightening Sprints. Only 21 USAC 410's were on hand but the show they gave to a packed grandstand was sure worth it.
Jake in the Moosemobile took to the race againest the clock - and his time would hold up to claim the Woodland Auto Display QUICK TIME!!! USAC does make the Heat races exciting for the fans, as the fastest cars start at the back of the 7 car heats. So, heat 1 - saw Jake stack up againest some stiff competition and making some incredable passes Won Heat # 1. The other 2 heat races did not disappoint either, as 2nd and 3rd fast timers also started at the back of their Heats and wom them also -- there was high and ow passing through all the Heats.
So with setting the Quick time -- if all 6 cars behind you make it through the heats - you for your hard effort starts The Main Event in 6th!!! High and low, afew slide jobs and Jake took the Triple XXX, Kistler Engine, HB Glass # 92 to a 3rd place podium finish!!!!
HIs weekend would not be over, as he and his galfriend Jessica loaded uo the cr and headed to Canyon Speedway in Arizona to drive the #34 360 Southwest USAC sprinter. Starting 8th in the Main Jake, took the checkers in 2nd!!!
Moose Racing & Jake had an awesome weekend.
