Kudos To Butler Built Containment Seats

It's time for a huge THANK YOU to Butler Built Seats for manufacturing a containment seat that sure saved Jake from serious injuries!! After a tangle in the Main Event with one of Jake's best buddies, Brody's left front wheel ended up inside the cage of the Moosemobile - Jake was pinned in the car and was attended to by the track personal and Speedway Fire & Rescue. Parts and cars can be replaced, but we are so grateful that Jake was a bit rattled - but overall ok. Time for a new seat and more then likely a new helmet too-
Saturday night was Moose NIght at The Pas - a night for Team Moose to be able to show it's gratitude for all the Moose fans that have supported the team for years and hopefully to make new fans. The excitement of the evening started as soon as you entered the walkway at The Pas being greated by team members, who offered beads, foam Go Jake fingers, some yummie Nestle candy, goodie bags for the kids and just some time to share chatting about racing in general. If you purchased a program Jake was starring you in the face -- as Mike Arthur created an amazing cover!!
It was QUICK TIME for Jake which boosted the enthusiasm of Moose Fans - a full section of waving teal foam fingers! Sure wish we had a photo of all the teal # 1 fingers that were displayed everytime Jake passed the start finish line.!
Don't need to remind you that quick time, as great as that is, starts you in the back of the heat race -- and you need to finish in the top 4 for a direct transfer to the Main. That automatic transfer gives you your qualifying time back, but Qucik Time would start 6th ( as the top 6 qualifiers are inverted ) Jake had to be on his toes for this one -as the lineup for the Heat was stout -- and the 92 Moosemobile missed the transfer by 1. Let's line up for the Semi --- Jake in P1 ... and at the drop of the green, he's off and never looks back -- Semi Win!!!
Wanting to do something to show the crowd that team Moose appreciates their support for sprint car racing - the entire team took bags of purple Moose Fresbies and practiced their throwing ability. Many of the flying saucers had gifts stickered to to the bottom -- Moose Munch, Moose Hats, stickers, posters, photos, stuffed moose's --and were available for them to pick up after the Main Event. Hopefully Team Moose made alot of kids happy ....
Main Event .... starting 7th - a bit of a way to the checkered. But Jake and the Moosemobile were on a rail and moving forward. Lap 7 saw Jake and Brody going for the same piece of racetrack and the same time -- they got together and the scene was very scary as Brody's tire was inside the cage --- again, it was Butlerr Built Containment seat that kept Jake safe !!! As any racer will say, cars and parts are replaceable but people aren't. Thanks to Chris, Roger, and his son Tim, Jim, & Jake for all being at the house today working to strip one car, move the 410 motor into the 360 car and hopefully that would give us a car ready for next Saturday in Santa Maria. So much for that idea - engine pulled, put into the purple frame. tried to bump it back and engine wouldn't bump back --- a call to Rc - the guys pull the engine back out and it's on it's way to RC Performance to check it.... Alot of you are thinking, well "they "have another 410 car--- so what's the deal... A month or so ago the story was posted about the spindle pn the trailer, well, the trailer is still in the process of getting repaired , it's in another shop And that other car is in it. SO, get it out?!! the trailer doesn't roll, so, the guys wil head there tomorrow to figure out how to get the trailer out of the shop and somehow get that car outta there... If It was easy, everyone would do it!!!
