Opening night at Perris Auto Speedway last night had the Moose Crew fired up and ready to do battle with the other 27, 410, fire breathing machines. Weeks of work & a full day of practice laps at The Pas the week prior, all proved to be beneficial!! After kissing the turn 4 wall & somehow saving the 92 from going over Austin gathered it up, not missing a beat and qualified 5th. Austin lined up in Heat 2 , that had superior talent as competitors: Brody, Damion, Matt Mitchell, Charlie Davis, Mike Martin, just to name a few. Wow, needing to complete the 10 laps 4th or better, pressure was on. And Austin pushed the 92 sprinter to a solid 2nd, making the direct transfer to the 30 lap Main. If you missed the show at The Pas last night, and you are an avid sprint car fan, you missed a barn burner. Austin had the Moosemobile on a rail and was one of those that charged to the front , was challenging for the lead and then started to drop back some. During a red flag stop the crew found a tire bleeder that wasn't working corectly, was able to repair and Austin was back up on the wheel and finished the 30 lapper on the podium in 3rd!!
