What’s Up For Chase & Moose 92 This May?

Kicking off the busy month of May was Ler’s Race Two. A combined show with The World Of Outlaws. Gotta admit going into the 92’s first on track action at The BIg E, I was nervous Nelly. But!!! Chase was amazing, and the jittery nerves were actually gone after just hot laps. Chase was the first car to take a qualifying time and after all the rain that had soaked into the track overnight, ya never know if maybe 1st out would be the fastest and the track would get less competitive as 30 cars continued to challenge the clock. Chase held in there with top 10 in qualifying in 9th.
Heat race action finished it’s 8 laps :HOOSIER TIRE / COOK OUT THIRD HEAT: (8 laps, top-6 transfer to the feature) 1. C.J. Leary, 2. Kyle Cummins, 3. Chase Stockon, 4. Ryan Barr, 5. Shawn Westerfeld, 6. Korbyn Hayslett, 7. Hunter Maddox, 8. Kayla Roell, 9. Zack Pretorius. 2:16.597
All eyes were on the sky as the forecasts warned everyone that rain was expected around 10 pm….

After WoO heat races and no Semi Main for USAC, it was “ push em out boys’, it’’s showtime!!! Starting 11th ( there’s that crazy way the new rules lineup cars for a Mina ) 30 laps goes pretty fast around these banks. Huggin ghte bottom for the being of the show, Chase was consisting moving forward — the bottom went away and up tot he top he went ( YIKES ) …at one point after a yellow was thrown, I blinked my eyes, and poof, he was in 5th!!! Did take the checkered flag in 7th.
FEATURE: (30 laps, starting positions in parentheses) 1. Brady Bacon (3), 2. Justin Grant (6), 3. Kyle Cummins (2), 4. Mitchel Moles (1), 5. Robert Ballou (8), 6. Kale Drake (15), 7. Chase Stockon (11), 8. Briggs Danner (13), 9. C.J. Leary (7), 10. Logan Seavey (9), 11. Matt Westfall (16), 12. Kevin Thomas Jr. (10), 13. Korbyn Hayslett (20), 14. Jake Swanson (12), 15. Jadon Rogers (19), 16. Gunnar Setser (18), 17. Saban Bibent (21), 18. Shawn Westerfeld (5), 19. Hunter Maddox (22), 20. Hayden Reinbold (14), 21. Zack Pretorius (23), 22. Kayla Roell (25-P), 23. Ryan Barr (17), 24. Braydon Cromwell (24), 25. Kyle Shipley (4). NT… And then Mother Nature said, sorry boys, no more racin’ at the Big E this weekend and all teams packed up and headed home about noon on Saturday ….
The ride home was anything but pleasant, as a trucker pulled up besides us to let us know there was major smoke coming off of the back of the trailer. Being as Mose is ususally prepared for about anything, he was able nurse the rig to the next exit - and found a tire was rubbing on the fender liner .. how, what. why, no one really knows but fire up the compressor. made some tire adjustments and we were back on the road, limbing a bit, but made it home.

The National Sereis does have a race this Firday the 9th at Bloomington, but the 92 is staying home to go over all the issues with the trailer and get themselves ready for Tri-State Saturday the 10th. It will be the first tme the Moose 92 has set a hoof on the track with Chase behind the wheel. Can’t wait to see what the Moose and Chase can conquer on what we call our hometrack ( as we are located about 8 minutes from Tri-State !!
The guys will unload Sunday, clean and service the car and the rig will head north Monday early morning to participate in an Elementary Schools “ Salute to the Indy 500” event. Brown Brothers excavating, one of Chase’s long time sponsors asked if we could help he and his teacher gal friend ( Susie, a kindergarten teacher ) by bringing the car up for the kiddos to see…. will post some pics from that during or after the event…

You all know it takes an army to be able to participate in these events and we are so grateful for the companies and people that support us:

The is not enough thanks to give to — Steve WIlliby, a friend who recently moved to Indiana too and has taken on the task of crew chief…
